Curium joins five finalists at Guidewire InsurPitch Sydney 2026, putting compliance intelligence and insurance innovation firmly on stage.

Curium was proud to be named one of five finalists at Guidewire’s InsurPitch Sydney 2026, joining some of Australia’s emerging insurance technology companies for an evening focused on solving real industry problems.

On 5 August 2026, insurance leaders, technology teams and innovators came together in Sydney for InsurPitch Sydney 2026, a live insurtech pitch event presented by Guidewire.

The event brought emerging technology businesses directly in front of insurance industry leaders, giving each finalist the opportunity to demonstrate how their technology could address real challenges facing insurers today.

For Curium, being selected as a finalist was also an opportunity to bring compliance, an issue sometimes overlooked in conversations about insurance innovation, firmly onto the stage.

Curium joined four other finalists at InsurPitch Sydney 2026:

  • Sync Technologies, applying technology and property intelligence to insurance claims
  • Raindrop, focused on policy analysis
  • myVal, using technology to support insured sum management
  • HAVEN ERM, addressing psychosocial risk and exposure
  • Curium, bringing insurance expertise, automation and AI together to modernise compliance

Each finalist had only five minutes to communicate the problem they were solving, demonstrate their approach and show why it mattered to insurers.

It made for a fast-moving evening, but the underlying message was clear: insurance innovation works best when technology is built around real industry problems rather than technology for technology’s sake.

Insurance innovation is often associated with claims automation, underwriting, data, artificial intelligence and digital customer experiences.

Insurance businesses, however, also operate within increasingly complex regulatory environments, while compliance teams are often still bringing together information from spreadsheets, registers, policy documents, emails and disconnected systems.

At InsurPitch, Curium CEO and Co-Founder Tetiana George presented a different approach, showing that compliance deserves a place in that innovation conversation too.

Her pitch, “Compliance Intelligence for Complex Markets,” focused on what happens when regulatory knowledge, business context and technology are brought together within the core compliance environment.

Traditional governance, risk and compliance tools can often sit outside the operational systems where risks actually arise.

That creates a fundamental problem.

A compliance system may know that an obligation exists, but without understanding what is happening inside a claim, complaint, customer interaction or policy process, it may only identify an issue after the event.

Curium is designed to close that gap.

Knowledge + context + technology

Curium brings regulatory knowledge together with the operational context of an insurance business.

Instead of requiring teams to manually interpret every obligation and then search across multiple systems for evidence, Curium is designed to help organisations connect obligations, controls, incidents, complaints and operational activity in one environment.

The goal is to move compliance away from periodic checking and towards greater ongoing visibility.

That means helping compliance teams:

  • understand which obligations apply;
  • connect those obligations with business processes and controls;
  • reduce repetitive manual monitoring;
  • identify potential compliance issues earlier; and
  • create clearer evidence for management, boards and regulators.

It is a different way of thinking about compliance technology.

Rather than asking compliance teams to continuously look backwards and determine what went wrong, the opportunity is to use technology to identify risk while there is still time to do something about it.

Why InsurPitch matters

InsurPitch is about more than delivering a good five-minute presentation.

Events like this help connect emerging insurance technology with the people who understand the realities of implementation — insurers, technology leaders, advisers and industry specialists.

For companies building new solutions, that connection matters.

Guidewireplays a significant role across the global property and casualty insurance technology ecosystem, and initiatives such as InsurPitch provide emerging insurtech businesses with an opportunity to put their ideas in front of the industry and test whether those ideas address problems insurers genuinely want solved.

For Curium, being selected as an InsurPitch Sydney finalist was valuable validation of something we have believed from the beginning:

Compliance is no longer simply a back-office function. It is an insurance technology problem worth solving.

Congratulations to Sync Technologies

The evening ultimately belonged to Sync Technologies, which was named the winner of InsurPitch Sydney 2026.

Congratulations to the Sync Technologies team on the result.

We were also pleased to share the stage with HAVEN, myVal and Raindrop. Each finalist approached a different part of the insurance value chain, but every pitch was grounded in the same objective: using technology to solve a meaningful industry challenge.

That diversity is what made the event particularly valuable.

Claims, policy analysis, risk, customer outcomes and compliance may appear to be separate problems, but increasingly they are connected by the same underlying question:

How can insurers use technology to make better decisions, earlier?

From reactive compliance to compliance intelligence

That question sits at the heart of what Curium is building.

AI and automation are creating new possibilities across insurance, but the real value does not come simply from adding another AI tool.

It comes from combining technology with the right knowledge and the right context.

For compliance teams, that means systems that understand not only the regulatory obligation, but also what is happening across the organisation.

The opportunity is to make compliance more connected to the business, more proactive and more useful.

InsurPitch Sydney 2026 gave us the opportunity to put that idea in front of the insurance industry.

And we were proud to take the stage.
